The small things are pulling through extra strong this year. I’m so grateful for sticky jelly fingers and face, early Christmas decorations, time off from work during the holidays, all the crafts that get sent home from Isla’s school, and all the love that lives under our roof.

And yes, halfway through that list I realized they’re not small at all. Those things are huge. In fact, they’re everything this year.

Britney and I are so very thankful for your readership, support, interactions, and input as we journey along documenting all the while. This isn’t an advice column. We don’t know jack. This is a space to support each other and ask questions and share what works, what doesn’t, what sucks, what is scary, milestones and pictures. We love you all. We’re so thankful.

If you have big things going on, if the holidays don’t feel happy for you this year, if you’re waiting for results, if you’re scared, grieving, disappointed, or sleep-deprived…we hope you can take inventory for what isn’t scary, sad, disappointed, or tired. And we hope you’ll discover more than you expected to.

Love you guys. Happiest Thanksgiving.

About me

Hey! I’m Katie, wife to Matt and mama to Isla. If you like some things (donuts), but dislike other things (Trisha Yearwood’s Food Network show) then we will probably get along swimmingly! In March of 2015 I gave birth to Isla, and I credit my early postpartum survival to a select few things that I will share in due time. As I continue to sharpen my survival skills along this journey through motherhood, my hope for this blog is that Britney and I will develop a village here where we can connect with you, and you with other readers. Parenting is way hard. Let’s band together to find the humor.
