A Valentine’s Treat

My general lack of enthusiasm for Valentine’s Day has been compromised this year. There’s been a meet & greet I didn’t realize would be so impactful. Formerly Blasé Feelings (FBF), meet Daughter’s Class Party (DCP). DCP, say hi to FBF. Alright. Guess we’re into this stuff now.

Class parties. Turns out, you don’t have to hand stitch (with love) tiny felt sachets filled with lavender buds and spritzed with essential oils to qualify in this race. I mean, some of you have to. And I’m counting on those few to deliver on that front because I want one. I mean, Isla wants one.

Last minute Rice Krispy Treats, complete with dollar store sprinkles. Thats what this post is all about.

Some of you will pull these out of your child’s tiny backpacks today. You’re being warned now that they were pressed on excessively by little sprinkle-stained hands. They were made with extra butter.

They’ll be zip-locked in the pinkest and reddest of dollar store bags.

These are for you, moms & dads. Intended to be stolen from your toddler’s stash today. This is my thank you for that essential oil craft I’m going to stick under my car seat so that my car smells like heaven for a couple weeks.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

About me

Hey! I’m Katie, wife to Matt and mama to Isla. If you like some things (donuts), but dislike other things (Trisha Yearwood’s Food Network show) then we will probably get along swimmingly! In March of 2015 I gave birth to Isla, and I credit my early postpartum survival to a select few things that I will share in due time. As I continue to sharpen my survival skills along this journey through motherhood, my hope for this blog is that Britney and I will develop a village here where we can connect with you, and you with other readers. Parenting is way hard. Let’s band together to find the humor.
